Helen Domleo Jewellery is dedicated to giving my customers a fair, rewarding and enjoyable shopping experience. I conduct business according to the same values, knowing that better service equals loyal customers. My store policies are detailed below, please have a look and contact me if you want to learn more!

Helen Domleo: Shopping Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply when you buy an item from my website or place an order for a custom-made item. By making a purchase or placing an order you are agreeing to these terms and conditions so please read them carefully. If you are enrolling in one of my classes or workshops, please read the Tuition Terms and conditions here [insert hyperlink here]
It is probably obvious, but in this document and on this website ‘I’, ‘me’ or ‘my’ mean Helen Domleo of 119 Brookhill Street, Stapleford, NG9 7GJ, while ‘you’ and ‘your’ mean you, the person making the purchase or placing the order and ‘we’ or ‘us’ refers to both you and me. ‘Items’, ‘pieces’ or ‘goods’ are the jewellery you are buying or ordering, while ‘stock items’ means pieces offered for sale on this website. ‘Commission’ means an individual item created, adapted or personalised for you and to your requirements.
These terms and conditions were written in November 2020. I will review them periodically to keep them up to date and reflect any changes in my business or the law. The terms and conditions displayed on this website at the time you make your purchase or place your order are those which apply to that transaction.
Please read my Privacy Policy [hyperlink here] which explains how I use your personal information and comply with data protection law.
Any agreement between us is governed by English law.
About my Website
Using this website should be straightforward, but if you have any problems or queries, please contact hdomleo@yahoo.com and I will be happy to help.
I aim to keep my website up to date and accurate, and items offered for sale are normally in stock but errors and unexpected demand may occasionally happen. If an item you have purchased is no longer available, I will let you know straight away and confirm timescales or options.
All images and content on this website, on my social media feeds and on any printed literature, remain my intellectual property and must not be used in any form or medium without my express permission and without being attributed to me. I reserve the right to take appropriate action in the event of any misuse of my intellectual property.
About my Jewellery
Allergy information: My pieces are made from sterling silver unless stated otherwise in the description. I do occasionally make items in copper or other metals and these will always be clearly labelled as such. Chains supplied with my necklaces are silver plated. I can supply sterling silver chains at an additional cost, and if you would like to arrange this please contact hdomleo@yahoo.com before placing your order.
Hallmarking
Legally, all sterling silver items weighing more than 7.78g must be hallmarked. For stock items, the cost of hallmarking is included in the price shown on the website. For commissions, the cost of hallmarking will vary, and I will confirm the price with you when you place your order. My hallmark is held at the Sheffield Assay Office.
Sustainability
All my silver pieces are made from 100% recycled silver, which I buy only from reputable precious metal suppliers, principally Bellore Rashbel and Cookson’s Gold.
My jewellery is intended for adult use only and is not suitable for children.
Ordering and Payment
Payment for online orders can be made by credit or debit card.
If you prefer not to use online payment methods, I accept payment by cheque drawn on a UK bank only. If you wish to pay by cheque, please e-mail hdomleo@yahoo.com to place your order and wait for confirmation of acceptance, before posting your cheque to the address provided. When I accept your order, I will remove the item from sale on the website pending receipt of your cheque. I will then dispatch the item once your cheque has cleared - please note that this may take up to 7 calendar days. I will notify you when I receive your cheque and again when I dispatch your item. If I do not receive your cheque within 7 calendar days, I will relist the item and cancel your order.
If you are local, and we arrange for you to collect your item from my studio in person, you may pay by card or cash if you prefer. If you have paid by cheque, we will arrange collection at a mutually convenient time after your cheque has cleared.
Where I undertake a commission for you, I will normally take payment on completion of the item but for high value items I may require you to pay a non-refundable deposit when you place the order.
By making a purchase or placing an order you are offering to buy an item subject to these terms and conditions. All orders are, of course, subject to availability and (where applicable) to confirmation of the total price including any postage. A contract for the purchase is formed between us once your full, cleared payment or in the case of a commission, your deposit, has been received, and all goods remain my property until that point.
Postage
Postage is free to the mainland UK only. For delivery outside this area, please contact hdomleo@yahoo.com for a postage quote before placing your order.
Within the mainland UK I send all orders by Royal Mail Signed-For First Class or, for higher value items, Special Delivery, both of which require a signature on delivery. It is your responsibility to ensure that you provide the correct postal address and that there will be someone available to take delivery of and sign for your item. If your order is returned to me because the Royal Mail has been unable to deliver it on multiple occasions, you will be responsible for repeat postage costs.
If you would prefer your item to be sent by standard Royal Mail First Class post, which does not require a signature, please contact me before placing your order. Using standard post is entirely at your own risk, and I will not provide a refund for any item lost in the post, although I will always obtain a proof of posting. In the unfortunate event of your item being lost, it will be your responsibility to follow up the matter with the Royal Mail.
If you would like your item to be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, this is available at a cost of £7.70. Please e-mail me before placing your order.
I will dispatch items that are in stock within 7 calendar days of receiving cleared payment unless otherwise stated. Timescales for commissions will vary, depending on the work involved, the number of other orders I have and whether the piece needs to be hallmarked. I will discuss and agree timescales with you when you place your order and will keep you posted of any delays.
When I dispatch your order, I will send you a dispatch confirmation, normally including a photograph of the Royal Mail tracking or proof of posting details. If you have not received your order within 7 calendar days of receiving this confirmation, please email me at hdomleo@yahoo.com. Non-receipt of all Signed-For or Special Delivery items must be notified to me within 28 days of dispatch confirmation. I will not normally refund or replace any lost order that you notify me about outside that timescale.
Royal Mail delivery times may vary, particularly during the current Covid-19 pandemic. Once I have posted your item, I am not responsible for delays in delivery. If you are ordering your item for a special occasion, please ensure you order in good time to allow for possible postal delays!
Orders Shipping Outside the UK
International shipping prices vary, so If you wish to place an order for delivery outside the UK, please e-mail hdomleo@yahoo.com for a quote on postage. Local import laws and customs regulations may mean that I am not permitted to send items to certain regions, while in many countries goods are subject to import taxes payable by the customer on receipt. You are responsible for all import taxes and charges and for any interactions with customs so please check the regulations that apply to the relevant country before you place an order.
All prices on my website are given in UK £ Sterling, and you will be billed in this currency. If you purchase from outside the UK, currency fluctuations and charges applied by your bank or card provider may make a difference to the amount billed on your credit or debit card statement.
Returns and Refunds
Please check your item carefully when it arrives and let me know at hdomleo@yahoo.com within 14 days of receipt in the unfortunate event that it arrives damaged or is faulty. I will then arrange a full refund (including any postage and return postage) or, subject to availability, a replacement. Refunds will be made to your original payment method within 14 calendar days of receiving your returned item or your proof of posting, at my discretion.
I really hope you’ll be happy with your item, but if you are in the UK or Europe and do need to cancel your order for any reason you have the right to do so by notifying hdomleo@yahoo.com within 14 days of receiving the item. You must then return the item in its original packaging, unworn and complete with all parts such as chains, within 14 days of cancellation. Once I receive the returned item in this condition, I will refund the purchase price (excluding any postage paid) to your original payment method within a further 14 calendar days. If the item is not returned in the stated condition, I reserve the right to deduct an appropriate amount from the refund or, if necessary, to refuse a refund.
Please use Royal Mail Signed-For or Special Delivery to return your item and retain the tracking and posting details, as the item remains your responsibility until I receive it. I do not accept any responsibility for items lost or stolen in the post if they are not sent using one of these two methods.
I do not normally accept returns from outside the UK and Europe, except where an item arrives damaged or faulty, in which case please e-mail hdomleo@yahoo.com.
For reasons of hygiene, earrings are exempt from returns unless they are faulty or damaged.
Commissions and personalised items are carefully made for you to specifications agreed between us, so are not normally returnable or refundable unless they are damaged or faulty. Please ensure that you ask any questions before ordering and that any measurements or other specifications you give me are accurate. If you are in any way unhappy with your item, please contact me straight away at hdomleo@yahoo.com.
Repairs
If your jewellery gets broken or damaged in wear, a repair may be possible at my discretion. You will be responsible for all postage costs and in some cases I may make a charge for the repair.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for one year from the date of issue and can be used online to buy items from this website or pay for workshops at my studio by entering the voucher code at the checkout. You can also use them to buy items directly from me at my studio or at any fairs, but they cannot be used in any gallery or retail outlet without my express permission. They are not valid for workshops organised by third parties or held at third party venues.
If the price of your purchase is lower than the value of your voucher, the ‘change’ will be provided in the form of another gift voucher only, not in cash.
Please take great care of your gift voucher, as I will not replace lost or stolen vouchers.
Gift vouchers are not normally refundable, except under exceptional circumstances at my sole discretion.
Rights, Responsibilities and Liability
Once I have received your cleared payment, I will fulfil your order fully and within the stated timescales. I retain the right to cancel our contract if I have insufficient stock, am unable to fulfil the order, or in the unlikely event of an item listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical or system error. If I need to cancel your order, I will notify you by e-mail as soon as possible and refund any sums paid in full (including any postage) to your original payment method within 7 calendar days.
Where either of us cancels an order, my liability is limited to refunding the amount you have paid, and where you return an item that is faulty or damaged, my liability is limited to refunding the amount you have paid, replacing or repairing the item. Deposits taken for commissions are non-refundable except in the event that I cancel the order.
I am not under any circumstances liable for additional costs, consequential loss, damages or expenses however caused.

If you are ordering an item for delivery outside the UK and Europe, it is your responsibility to comply with all applicable customs, import and similar requirements. I make no representation about, and accept no liability in relation to, the export or import of the goods you purchase.

I reserve the right to refuse to accept any order or commission.
Pricing
I reserve the right to change my pricing at any time, on this website and in any other setting and to offer promotions or discounts, at my sole discretion.
The prices of silver and other raw materials fluctuate frequently and often significantly. For this reason, any quote I give for a commission is valid only for 7 calendar days.
